I'm planning to bring meat like brisket or chicken or ham depending on what others do. I can decide late in the game. I think that Ruth is making a turkey - she was, are you still? Did we decide that sisters here would do the main meats? Whatever is needed at the end of the menu planning, I can bring or contribute to. Aunt Anna

If you want people to know what this is, why don't you try changing the name to "Help"?
We've got some great ideas going!
Angela, I'll check out the historical tour thing; I'm thinking that it is a self-guided tour by cd, where we are our own tour guides with the cd explaining what we are seeing, but I don't know. We have a very authentic eye witness to history right in our own family as you may know.
The barbeque - I will find out who catered and we could likely buy the meat. Or, we can find it somewhere (like up the road from the Bakery barbeque shack). My kitchen is available for cooking and I have some large boiling pots that beans could be cooked in - or in the Dutch oven I have. At any rate, my kitchen is available for cooking. I have two ovens and am offering, but much would have to be done the day before if we are going to have fun on Saturday. With a little expert planning, we can do it. (And we have some expert planners in our midst as well).
Beach theme sounds good to me. Me and my Rockport relatives are going to have to get high behind to fix up some bottles before that date. I am thinking they will need to have wire hangers inserted to be used. That is, they would be wall decorations rather than trays or spoon rests, etc.
I nearly got my studio/office cleaned up last week and maybe I can get it done, then I can work on stuff a lot better!!!! (A china painting friend sent me a round tuit, so I am forced to do it!)
Keep the ideas flowing!!!
There's a little BBQ joint there in Fulton that is 100X better than Macs. It is nothing more than a shack to walk up and order BBQ, but they do cater. They had a shack in Ingleside for a few months but a design flaw caused it to burn down. Probably for the best. I would have spent my retirement eating there.
Here's an address...

Ingleside 78362

Victor's family already had a trip planned for that weekend and cannot change it.

Could we get a running total too? Just chime in and let us know who is and who isn't planning on being there.
Thanks

Whoever made the white chocolate chip, macadamia nut cookies last time, would you be willing to do it again?;) They were really yummy!!!!!!:) I will be more than happy to get a side, probably store bought since we have no idea where we will be staying right now.
Kristin
Ha! No, I don't think the CD covers Torres family history. Although that might be a good project....
I picked up a visitor's guide last time I was there, and read an article about it. It must be a new tourist-trap thing. But I'd like to hear it. I can only imagine what our mini-van load will sound like as we're driving around listening to it, everyone chiming in, "THAT'S not right...." I kind of doubt we'll actually hear much of it.
Angela
I think the sign up sheet is a good idea. I'll work on one this evening. Everyone just let me know what you want to bring. I'm going to make it a general sheet, food, supplies and anything else needed. Eileen, I'll put you down for paper goods?
NeNe, you are more than welcome to use the lights. Want me to bring the 2 fishbowls and shells I have left too?
General consensus seems to be get the meat supplied, do the sides and desserts ourselves, ditto paper goods, cups and utensils. BYO drinks.
And we'll keep working on the fun stuff. Teresa
It's near impossible for those w/o their own kitchens, ingredients, and utensils to cook for an affair. I could bring a store-bought thing, and that would be fine with me.
We are not getting a condo this time. We will be on the beginning of our grandson vacation, and don't want to sink too much money for a place to stay in Rockport for two nights. We are booked into the Balboa Courts.
I think food provided by the participants, "pot luck" would be good. Last
time we had a cook book. This time we cook. I'm willing. Maybe we could
have the meats cooked by someone else and bring the other fixings ourselves.
I doubt we will have as many this time as last time and it is going to be
hard to get a good count in time to have a caterer.

Hi all, It's time (past time actually) to start pulling this years reunion together. First things first. Please look at all the names and addresses. If any of your siblings/cousins/parents/aunts/uncles isn't on the list please update for us all. I know I'm missing some of the Stacy girls and Patrick Owens and Michelle T. Ingram. I'm also having a problem w/Uncle Vic & Aunt Judy's address. Someone please let me know which is correct. The date is Saturday 27th June, at the Rockport pavilion. I hope everyone will be there. I already know my boys won't be. I'm disappointed, but understand of course. I know that Aunt Anna and some cousins have looked into firing/melting making wine bottle spoon rests. That's about it for plans, that I am aware of. We've had a few suggestions about catering vs. feeding ourselves. Get Mac's to do it. They're easy, fairly inexpensive and we've dealt with them before. Get just the meat from Macs. Get everyone to make a side and/or a dessert. Also fairly easy. I like this or the following version. I keep thinking that HEB does already cooked brisket and hams and prob'ly turkeys. Get the meat from them, do the sides etc. as above. Get someone else to cater. Suggest someone. We're going to need supplies for said food. Plates, utensils, cups, etc. Decorations? Ideas, suggestions. Crafts and or field trips? Ok, please respond and reply all, so no one misses out please. And I'd be more than happy to let someone else take the wheel... Love and smooches (picked that up from one of the Thibodeaux girls) Teresa
